Children's Toys

Everyone in this house, feels like a valued member of the family, whether they live here full time, or just spend their days here.

My name is Rebecca (Becca), and I have been a professional day home provider here in Lethbridge since 2011, though my experience goes back MUCH farther than that.   My program is licensed, which means the affordability grants reduce parent fees at the source, and subsidy is available for families that qualify for the extra financial help.  I hold a current ECE Leve 1 certificate with the province of Alberta, have clean criminal record check, driver's abstract and CFSA check. I've also completed the certificate in Flight: Alberta's Early Learning Curriculum Framework through MacEwan University. My day home is smoke, drug and alcohol free, childproof, cozy, and inviting. At FantasticTots Day home, I pride myself on ensuring your child feels like a cherished member of the family. With a focus on play-based learning, I help young people learn vital skills like empathy, problem-solving, love of literacy, creative thinking and independence, while fostering an environment of compassion, love and support.
I've got a pretty amazing family to share this journey with: I've been married to my amazing husband, Justin since 2002.  He's a big teddy bear type of guy, who children adore. My oldest child was born in 2003, and he's an amazingly witty individual.  Our younger two were born in 2007 and 2009 respectively, and are both fun loving, compassionate, creative young people who love children.  We've lived in our current home since 2008, and love our neighborhood and home.  We've got a fenced yard with large mature trees,  lovely neighbors, and are located near many amenities, near a major bus route.

In our home, we love animals, and as such have several pets of different types!.  A couple of small dogs live here.  Both are gentle, well trained and LOVE children.  Also living here are 3 kitties who are well used to children and a cockatiel named Charlie who likes to sing with us. All interactions between children and the pets are closely supervised to prevent oopsies, as I am always mindful that the pets are still ANIMALS no matter how well behaved and trained they are. I find that the pets are actually a very valuable empathy and compassion teaching aid, as they each bring different energy and engagement levels. If at any time I ever feel supervision of interaction is compromised for some reason, the bird goes in his cage, and everyone else with fur goes either downstairs or outside, so that I can keep everyone, human and critter alike, safe.

I am an avid home cook, so meals and snacks here are always prepared with the freshest ingredients available. Will you find chicken fingers and fries on the menu at times? Sure, but not machine made cutlets.  We go for breaded filets and sweet potato fries, baked in the oven and served with a side salad instead! I've always believed that children need quality nutrition to fuel their brains, and I'm a foodie, so it's a match made in heaven! Whether your child is here for 2 snacks and lunch, or just an after school snack, rest assured, their nutritional needs are being met, with the tastiest options available!

Our family would love to get to know yours and see if we could be the right child care "fit" for your needs. For the safety and confidentiality of current clients, initial visits to the day home are conducted exclusively after-hours. Once we've met and determine each other to be a good fit, I advise my current clients that we will have a visitor over to get a feel for how the group interacts together. If this goes well, we will sign a contract, and book your child's future attendance!

Contact me today if you're interested in securing a child care space for your child. I don't have spaces come available very often, and they go fast when they do!
